We are so pleased to share that the Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club has announced that Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare is its Charity of the Year for 2024. The Charity of the Year partnership coincides with our 40th Anniversary.
Joel Murphy, Chairman of Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club, says, “Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club (BSCC) are delighted to announce Budleigh Salterton and District Hospiscare (BS&DH) as our charity of the year for 2024. BSCC are a community driven cricket club, and we are excited to be able to support and promote the incredible work that BS&DH do in the town and local area. We are two charitable organisations who are focused on the health and well-being of the community, as such we are looking forward to working on some great events together throughout the year! Martin Briggs, Chairman of Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare, says “We are absolutely delighted that Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club have made us their Charity of the Year for 2024. The partnership is a great example of two local organisations working together for the benefit of the local community – with BSCC helping to raise valuable funds for us during our 40th Anniversary year and us supporting the Otters in their great new location at The Holt. It’s a fantastic start to our 40th Anniversary year!”
BSCC will support BS&DH by promoting its events with club members as well as providing a fantastic fundraising event venue in the form of the Club’s newly opened clubhouse, The Holt.
Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare is an independent local charity raising their own funds to cover all the costs of patients registered with Budleigh Salterton Medical Centre and Woodbury Surgery who are cared for by Hospiscare’s end of life services. They also support those patients and their families through various volunteer services. The charity receives no direct support from the NHS or other public resources and so relies entirely on the generous support of the local community for their funds.
