Fundraising success with Budleigh Lions

Raising funds and engaging the community with Budleigh Salterton Lions

We were very busy in mid-July with a fun weekend of community fundraising activities with the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club!

On Friday 14 July, the Lions ran their monthly Bingo in the Public Hall in Budleigh. We (Nina, Claire, and Martin) couldn’t believe the crowds! There wasn’t an empty seat in the Hall. Our amazing volunteers Julie, Charlotte, and Pearl helped us to run a very successful refreshment stall where we sold their homemade cakes.

On Saturday 15 July, the Public Hall saw crowds again with the massive Jumble Sale. The Jumble Sale was very lively and it was such a treat to meet so many Lions and community members. Lions had been busy selling raffle tickets that week on the High Street. The prize draw was at the end of the Jumble Sale and the winner won £100!

Last week, Martin and Claire met the Lions at the Dog and Donkey Pub in Knowle for a presentation of the cheque for the donation of £1750. Incredible result!
