Volunteering Roles
How Volunteers can Help.
We have a range of volunteering opportunities and will match your interests to the roles available.
Driving: The role of volunteer driver has changed since the pandemic. We are now looking for drivers to transport equipment and collect prescriptions to help relieve the pressure on patients, their families and our nurses.
Befriending Service: Sitting with a patient to allow the carer to go shopping, to the hairdresser or simply to have a little time to themselves. A Hospiscare patient’s carer recently said “When you are looking after someone you love 24 hours a day, you cannot underestimate the strain and pressure it puts on you and the relationship. It is such a relief to get away for just a couple of hours knowing your loved one is still being supported.”
Bereavement Support: Join our Bereavement Support Group and help those recently bereaved by providing phone support or visiting people in their own homes.
Join one of our Committees: We are always looking to add enthusiasm, experience and expertise to our committees, whether it's helping out with fundraising events or getting involved in the management of the charity.
If you are interested in any of these roles, please contact us on 01395 445876 or office@hospiscare.org.
