The weather finally cooperated towards the end of the summer…
…. just in time for lots of community events! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Budleigh Salterton Lions – Seafront Fayre
On Monday 28 August, the Lions put on an incredible Bank Holiday Fayre! The seafront was fully lined with local charities, businesses, and other organisations. After passing morning showers, it turned into a brilliantly sunny day. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, buy a baked good, and have a go on the coffee bean guessing game. Seachange Community Fete
On Saturday 9 September, we enjoyed participating in the Seachange Community Fete. We were joined by colleagues from Hospiscare, again sharing details about various volunteer opportunities. Load of fun was had by all. Photos and more details are available here.
Croquet and Cream Tea with local Pilates group
On Sunday 10 September, a local Pilates group organised an afternoon of croquet and cream tea and raised £800 in support of specialist end-of-life care in our community.
Emma Heath of Emma Heath Massage and Movement invited the members of her Pilates classes to a social event at the Budleigh Salterton Croquet Club. Emma and colleague Ali Colledge teach Pilates classes throughout the week at the Croquet Club. The Club kindly agreed to host the event and provided a team of volunteers to introduce participants to the fun of croquet and teach them a few skills along the way. Over 70 guests enjoyed a sunny afternoon of croquet, a feast of food and good company.
