We are really pleased to be selected as Charity of the Year by the Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club. You can read more about the partnership here. We’ll be at some of the Club’s fixture events this season, so stay tuned for dates and we hope to see you there. The Budleigh Salterton Ladies Choir has selected Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare as their charity of the year. We are so grateful! We will be at the concert, enjoying the performance, and raising some money for the charity.

Saturday 25 May – 2pm-4pm – Opening Fete on the Green

Our amazing volunteer Margaret will be putting on her much loved bottle stall.

Wednesday 29 May – 9:30pm – 12:30pm – Coffee Morning at the Public Hall

Join us in the Public Hall for coffees, cakes, and entertainment from the Woodbury Community Choir and the Woodbury Whalers… all in support of specialist end-of-life care in our community.

Saturday 8 June 2024 – 11:00am-04:00pm – throughout Woodbury

Members of the Woodbury Garden Club are opening their gardens in support of Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare! Take a leisurely stroll through varied gardens across the village. Join us for the Budleigh Salterton Ladies Choir Summer Concert at Holy Trinity Church Exmouth.

Saturday 22 June 2024 – 7:00pm – St Paul’s Church, 99 High St, Honiton EX14 1PG

This will be a fabulous night out with performances from two leading local choirs, the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir and the East Devon Rock Choir. Full event details are available here.

Put on your dancing shoes for our Silent Disco and Hog Roast! Haven’t experienced a Silent Disco before? You’re in for a treat – these immersive events are for everyone! Pop your headphones on and get down on the dance floor. And when you’re ready for a catch up with friends, just pop the headphones off and have a chat – and you won’t have to compete with loud music! Plus, a delicious hog roast from Greendale Farms. What’s not to love? Thank you to our Silent Disco event partner Urban Earth!

Will you host a Garden Get-Together to celebrate 40 years of Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare?

What’s a Garden Get-Together, you ask? Imagine a charity coffee morning, but in your own lovely garden.

Anyone and any kind of garden can get involved: From courtyard gardens to sea gardens, vegetable allotments to terraces, and even houseplant collections… any reason to invite your friends and family around to admire your green fingers and support BS&DH.

You’re in control of your own private garden event: This isn’t like our big Open Gardens event where you invite the whole town (and then some!) in. You’re in full control of your Garden Get-Together. We are here to support you as you decide on the details: the date and time of your event, who to invite, rain plans, refreshments, and fundraising activities. Our team will provide you with a hosting and fundraising pack and we’re here for other support when you need it.

Any little helps! Whether you raise 40p or £40 or even more… we’ll be so grateful for your support.

Various times throughout the day, various locations around the Lower Otter Valley

We invite our supporters to join us for a Forget Me Not Memory Walk around the Lower Otter Valley. This is a chance to for reflection and remembering loved ones we have lost. Walkers have options for different activities throughout the day:

• Self Guided Walks – maps of three different walking routes will be provided, including an easy walk on level pathways for people with limited mobility up to a more demanding 4k walk.
• Guided Ranger Walk – The Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust will be offering their monthly Ranger Walks to our Forget Me Not supporters. Advance booking is advised.
• Pop Up Bird Watch – Volunteers will be on hand at the ‘Island Viewing Platform’ to provide expert knowledge and advice about visiting wildlife.

Walkers will have the opportunity to purchase a Cream Tea at The Holt Bar & Terrace with proceeds coming to Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare. We hope you’ll join us for a lovely day long the Otter!

Our Annual Quiz returns! This event sold out last year, so when tickets are released, don’t delay in booking. Expect great food, excellent company, and a head scratching but fun quiz… all in support of BS&DH.
